Who We Are

Sophia Academy awakens genius in students with learning and/or developmental differences through our multi-sensory, hands-on, research-driven education. Emphasizing play, creativity, and exploration of all the good to be found in the universe, the world, and each other, we provide a warm and welcoming Christ-centered community while preparing students for a successful and satisfying life.

One Month ONLY

Two very generous donors have offered to match all contributions up to $10,000 starting NOW and going through the month of July. They believe in the mission of Sophia Academy, saying this:

The Impact of Your Donation

We work with urban teens. 100% of our students currently need significant financial aid. The company that verifies our financial aid applications tells us that over 90% of those will need full scholarships: since their annual income ranges from $9650 to $26,000.

When these students enroll at Sophia Academy, they break the cycle of years of failure.

Your donation today will DOUBLE your impact and allow us to help more students by

1. Providing scholarship funds to the neediest students

2. Purchasing specialized instructional software such as Learning Ally, Whizzimo, and Let’s Go Learn to support the unique learning needs of our students. They will be able to read books at or above grade level, manipulate phonemic sounds and units on the computer to overcome the difficulties with dyslexia, and practice math skills at their independent and instructional level.
